I travel a LOT, and they go to great pains to make sure you make
tight connections, even driving you to your next flight if there
isn't enough time to change terminals, etc. Lufthansa just says
tough luck, go sleep on the floor.

Old days? I loved the old PSA, New York Air and PBA for regional
airlines. Swissair and Cathay Pacific for International, and I found
the service on the British Airways Concorde to be better than on the
French version.

But the most fun flight by far was on a BWIA flight from JFK to Barbados
in 1981. From frozen NY on Chistmas Day, first a fabulous meal of
curried whatever plus other spicy stuff and Caribbean fruits, and then
the movie FAME, which had just come out. By the time the movie was over,
we pulled up the window shades to see the blue tropical waters and green
islands, one after another. Now THAT was a flight!
