As someone close to a victim of a drunk driver, I have a problem with keeping her drunkeness out of the picture. Even if this is the first time she did it, there's just no excuse. If she had injured or killed someone, it would've been very different. And it wouldn't have mattered if it was the first time she ever took a drink.

Still, your kindness in the situation is wonderful. I applaud you for that.
