45. I only wish that would work!
Our male cat has gum problems and so tends to not chew his food very well. We try to keep him in mushy food, because that goes down and stays down, but he LOVES the (very expensive) Feline TD dental health food from the vet--so he keeps trying to eat it, gingerly, and figures it's better to hork it down whole than to not have it at all. And then back up it comes. He does eat too fast as well, though, because he has some neurosis about starving to death. He was a stray as a kitten and has never forgotten the fear that he won't know where his next meal is coming from (and he's 11 now, so I guess that's never going to go away).

So he blows chunks (literally) frequently; our nervous wreck of a runt (female) graces us with hairballs and refuses to poo in the litter boxes even when they're pristine and so drops morsels on the plastic sheeting just outside the boxes; and our bowling-pin-shaped overly mellow other female gases us with farts stinky enough to make your eyebrows fall out--and I spend hours each day going through scads of spray cleaner, Nature's Miracle, and paper towels to keep the house from smelling like a zoo.

Again, I say, if they weren't so cute, I'd turn them all into hats.
