9. Dude, even my mother is more enlightened than that and she's dumb.

And not just because she thought Hawaii was another country.

Take for example, my cousin Toni is a lesbian. I thought we've all known since she came out to me at my dad's funeral (almost 4 years ago). Fast forward to family BBQ this summer...

Toni: And this is my partner Rebecca.
Mom: Oh, partners. That's nice. (obviously she's thinking tennis partners)

(kid goes running by)

Toni: And that's our son, Alex.
Mom: Oh...Oh! Partners.

Then, later at home...
Mom: Did you know Toni was gay?
Me: Yeah, for a long time.
Mom: Oh, do you think that's why she got divorced?
Me: Err..yeah...
