47. I would think that not speaking to a newborn for seven days would
be akin to sensory deprivation. A baby hears it's mother's voice when in the womb. To deprive it for seven days after birth seems like it would be punishment, not to mention what effect it would have on infant/parent bonding.

As a mother of four, I can tell you that I have never read anything from reliable sources that would suggest that this is a good idea.
