Hint: One of them served for two terms, the other served for one. The two-termer's first veep is the one to whom I'm referring.

This was long before Amendment XXV. Back then, if you lost your VP, you were veep-less for the rest of your term, and were not allowed to pick a new one unless you ran for re-election.
