I was listening to some music this afternoon and playing my bass guitar (or it was playing me--hard to tell when it's all body knowledge). Anyway, I had been through the usual, and I asked the wife what she wanted to listen to. She suggested an old favorite by The Little River Band, a tune called "Happy Anniversary." You may know it. In any event, I can follow along on bass to most LRB without any problem, but I had never tried "Happy Anniversary," and I didn't remember what the bass line even sounded like, so I turned it on to give it a try. I didn't get past the third note. Wow! Talk about a funky bass line. If you haven't listened to this song lately (or ever), try it again. Amazing work.
