16. Missouree or Missourah?
I was raised in St. Joseph -- but left 19 years ago. Up in northern Missouri we call it Missouree not Missourah. My parents, family and a few old friends are still in St. Joe and Kansas City. They haven't elected a Democrat to Congress in decades! I think Jerry Litton was the last powerful Democrat that I can remember. Litton and his family were killed in plane crash the night he won the primary for the Senate in 1976. It's hell to be a Democrat in Missouri!

I make it back to Northwest Missouri every 2 years or so -- it has its own unique beauty and character. As a lefty-purist-gay-man, Missouri doesn't exactly appreciate my own unique -- ah -- perspective. Progressives are definitely in the minority in NW Missouri. :kick:
