Up all night on a mission of mercy

mom wasn't breathing well (she has asthma) and called 911 about quarter past midnight. She called to let me know and to go to the hospital. She's been tested, x-ray and blood work is clear. They've treated her for asthma and have her in observation for the next 6-12 hours. I'm the go-to one, dad just got out of the hospital (caused by his own negligence, if my thread from last week is remembered). He's not one of the more husbandly-acting husbands (that's another thread). One brother is the starving artist and just got a new job. His employment has been spotty and doesn't need the stress right now. He's actually good in an emergency. The other one is the silly dreamer, just lost his job (his wife is pissed :grr: all his fault, but he hated the job), lives on the far side of town, and is not very dependable.

Left the hospital at 6:15, got to the parents' house, got the phone number for her mall-walking friend (mom won't make it this morning), headed home (along with the morning traffic), got shaved, changed, and, out to get the train to work. Train had hiccups, 10 mins late and I'm safe at my desk. I'm kinda tired right now.
