dress a 1/2 step nicer than regular attire, but don't go overboard.

For example, if nobody wears a tie, putting on a tie would be ok. A tie and a sport coat would be a little much, but still in the ok range. But a suit would be too much.

By the way, this is all just my opinion. Whenever I was hiring, though, I liked when the interviewee blended in well with the rest of my staff.
