And what's galling about this is that Gay Pride (and Gay Pride Month, which June is) is a celebration of the GLBT community ("Gay Pride" should be renamed GLBT pride, IMO). Paris Hilton has no ties to the gay community. She's never uttered a single word about homosexuality or GLBT people. Hell, she could be a raging homophobe for all I know. The LA Pride Parade community seemed to have just focused on her celebrity in their choice. There are other celebrities...how about the entire cast of "Will and Grace", for instance...who have either publically spoken out in support of GLBT issues or who are friends of our community.

Choosing Paris Hilton is a bit of slap in the face to the LA GLBT community, I'm afraid.
