73. Yes they bother me
but I wouldn't be rude about it.

My mother had my ears pierced when I was very young because it was a cultural tradition. However when I was a young gal the trend was to add another hole to wear two earrings per ear. I never did it because it just looked too cluttered to me...

When I see young people with the multple piercings it isn't as bothersome to me as the facial tattoos. What happens when they are old and gray? It just seems so permanent and having them removed is difficult and very expensive in comparison to the cost of having them done. I have also seen what happens to adults that have suffered discrimination as a result of tattoos. One coworker went so far as to have one removed surgically from her arm and it left such a huge scar, but as she told me...what seemed like a good idea at age 18 wasn't such a great idea when your 28. She had the tattoo done when she was in the army and later as an aspiring business consultant she had received funny stares from clients and other coworkers. She told me that she felt that people immediately jumped to conclusions about her character as a result of the tattoos whereas the scar elicted a sense of concern and empathy...(people thought she had been in a bad accident)...
