The optimum balance between functionality and complexity.

System 9 teetered over the line into complexity and bloat. As for OSX ... I've used it at work and have never been remotely tempted to purchase my own copy. UNIX is great for my research needs (I've used UNIX long before OSX) but using it for a home computer OS is just plain bughouse crazy. OSX conceded everything to the programmers' mindset at the expense of the end users'.

Eventually, I'll have to buy OSX, just to pull data off of some hard drives. But I'll be using it because it's necessary, not because it's a pleasure to work with (it's not).
