5. Those 4 wheel things scare me to death.
I don't like them much for adults, but I sure don't get why parents buy them for kids--let alone let them ride without a helmet! I would never say that to the parents, however--they are neck deep in self recriminations and fear right now--they sure as heck don't need to hear my opinions.

Zach, the boy that called 911 and stayed with Cody until they came, called my daughter and was talking to her. He kept on saying "...there was so much blood..." It had her terribly upset until I reminded her how bad a scalp wound can bleed. Oddly enough, Zach had an accident with his own ATV just last fall, yet he still rides. He does wear a helmet now, so I guess somebody learned something along the way.

My daughter does to an extremely small school--there are 25 kids in her entire class. They have grown up together and they are all pretty tight knit. We lost one a few years ago when he was hit by a car driven by a drunk man. Tonight, after she got off the phone with Zach my daughter made the comment that it was just like when Brandon died--nobody was telling the kids what was going on. I told her that it is exactly like when Brandon died--we don't KNOW what is going on right now.

I finally got her to go to bed, but I have a feeling it is gonna be a long night...

Thanks for sharing your story 2gabby. I can tell you will understand it when I say, they are ALL our kids.
