MANSURA, La. - A Louisiana couple is crediting their faithful house cat with saving them from an early morning fire.

When Melissa White was awakened by her cat Peaches early on a Saturday morning at first she thought nothing of it.

"She kept pawing at my shirt meow she only talks to us when she wants to eat. So I looked in the corner and our box fan was in flames," White said.
