Funny date story...

Mine's from today. :) I've gone on a few dates with a girl I met right after I moved here. It's going pretty well but we're both in kinda transitional phases in our life so it hasn't moved beyond just going on dates. But that's beside the point.

Anyhow, she flew back into town today and I picked her up at the airport. Her brother is also going to the same school as she is, so he flew in too and I figured I'd be a nice guy and give him a ride to his dorm. Then we went ice skating.

Now, between the two of us I think we've gone ice skating less than 8 times. I was actually starting to get fairly competent at it when I last skated... but that was 13+ years ago. I know this because my neice is about to turn 13, and my brother met his ex-wife at that ice skating rink. :)

Anyhow, we were having fun totally sucking at ice skating. We'd both managed to keep our balance enough not to fall on our asses, but that was about the limit of what we could do. Then I stumbled, and only didn't end up doing a split because I'm in pretty good shape and have pretty strong legs. My pants, however, decided to finish the split for me.

That's right, I split my pants wiiiiide open halfway through our date. All the way from halfway up the zipper to halfway down my thigh. And we still were planning on skating for a little while, then going out to a restaurant afterwards. :) And to top it off, all my clean pants were at the laundrymat. So I couldn't even run home and change.

Thankfully I've learned about dealing with the cold weather up here since I moved here, and I'd dressed in layers. So I had an extra shirt to wrap around my waist.

So that was fun. Can't wait until the next date... not sure how we can top this one, but we'll try.

Anybody else have any funny date stories? I'm sure it's not hard to top mine... :)
