How to make a link to a picture instead of embedding it in your post

This is for DoYouEverWonder, and anyone else who has big
pictures to share on DU but doesn't want to force people
(particularly dialup users) to download them when they simply
open the thread. I tried to PM this, but the DU html in PMs
works a bit differently than when posting in a thread.

The DU html for this is as follows:

[link:www.website.com/folder/imagename.jpg|click here
to open the picture in a new window]

Notice there's no http:// at the beginning of the url, and I
subsituted . (ascii code) for the first period in the
url.

If you preview your post the DU software changes the .
back into a period, so you'll have to re-insert it again
before you post your message. A quick workaround for this is
to select and copy your entire post before previewing, then
paste it back into the message again, edit as needed, and then
hit the post button.

This is the code for the link I'll include in my next post as
a demonstration:
