Why were you unemployed for three months in 1991? Why have you been unemployed for the last four months?

Did you ever notice how the positive attitude people go completely negative when they are looking for a reason not to hire you, even though they know you're the best person for the job because....

a) you belong to a minority
b) you're over fifty
c) you earned "too much" at your last job
d) organization policy requires that you be hired at 20,000 more a year than the kid straight out of college with no experience.
e) your resume and your demeanor doesn't demonstrate sufficient fervor or vocation for the new position. As if after being laid off two, three or more times over the course of a career, you're supposed to be committed because "it's more than a just a job."
