5. I don't like Lieberman but he is socially progressive
on a domestic front and I am beginning to see that he's no more a crony capitalist than most of the other Democrats- he's simply been exposed. Weshouldn't take his good points away from him. Also he's not a waffler or a liar.

I dislike him for many, many reasons and would be hard-pressed to vote for him but I think we beat him up too much while going really easy on others who aren't that much different than him.

Gore was as DLC as Lieberman. He just got a little carried away with the Clintonian populist rhetoric at times so he needed Lieberman to follow closely behind to call all the corporations in the morning and say "Don't worry, he didn't mean that". Gore chose him because their philosophies were more similar than we want to admit. It's real easy to blame Lieberman but Gore, as much as some of us loved him, was no Superman Angel.
