I don't usually post on the DLC, Hillary, Joe Lieberman, etc.

That is about to change.

I'm continuing working on what I call "The Dove/Hawk-Liberal/Conservative Compromise on the Iraq War".

I don't know what has happened to my political views, they have stayed the same, I'm as Left as ever.

One view has changed however and that is on the Iraq War.

Here are some things that I think about it:

The Intelligence was misused or even manipulated.

The "Fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" 'strategy' is fatally flawed.

The Human Rights Abuses are worse than they are now when they were under Saddam.

And...

Iraq is a mess.

BOTH Withdrawing and "Staying the course" could put us all in danger and destabilize the Middle East.

We've got to put the Partisanship behind us.

This is what I propose:

The Republicans drop parts of their Conservative Agenda, we find ways to end this war.

Iraq CAN become a Democracy, but the 'shoot-them-up Yeehaw!' 'strategy' ain't going to fix or build anything. If we're going to turn Iraq into a Democracy, it's going to take a Democratic approach to do it.

The Democrats get:
Their Progressive Agenda passed

The Republicans get:
Support for the war

The Troops will get:
More Armor
More Tools and Weapons
The Contractors out (The Iraqis CAN rebuild the Infrastructure AND this war can end faster if we do. They're a liability, they murder innocent Iraqis.)

WE (The American People) get:
Protection from Trickle Down Economics
A Bi-weekly report on the progress of Iraq
Read below too

The following parts of the Conservative Agenda must be dropped, if I were in charge of this:
Social Security Privatization
Abstinence Education
Federal Marriage Amendment (With a bill allowing at the least Civil Unions everywhere)
Opposition to Stem Cell Research
And more, basically the entire 'christian' Right will be forsaken. :D

Every war has a price.

Every action has a consequence.

It's time for the Bush Administration and the GOP to pay the price, it's time for them to experience the consequences of their actions.

This is the best thing we have. It can be better than Impeachment or shutting down the government. Hypothetically we can turn the Bush Administration into the Kerry Administration that we wanted, we can have two Democratic Parties.

The Bush Administration has created two monsters. Al Qaeda has gotten bigger, the 'christian' Right is also becoming a threat. I think that this is a solution that can slay both of these monsters.
