10. I forgot to add that he would veto making the tax cuts permanent
even if the Republicans pushed it. He would not have cut VA benefits and would have embarrassed enough Republicans to pass most of his Veteran's bill of rights. (Instead of having to use his email to get over 3000 stories of what military families need and having to quietly and compelling plead for even a few of the cheaper, needed provisions)

I don't know if he could have passed his kid's first legislation, but I would rather have a President lobbying for helping children than for destabilizing social security.

In our own hemisphere a President Kerry and his lovely Spanish and Portuguese speaking wife would likely not have been met by protesters everywhere. If they were, John and Teresa would likely have addressed them and asked that they work with us. Brazil was fascinated by the idea of Teresa and John (likely in that order) making a state visit if he won. I seriously think that Kerry, at least in this hemisphere would have corrected the problem he referred to as the US risking "not having a friend on this hemisphere".

You saw the pictures from the Middle east and Europe when he visited in Jan 2005. He would have been a President we could take pride in. Also, whether he or Edwards went to the Holocaust memorial, neither they or their wives would have shown up in ski parkas with lift tickets still attached.

Then there's the supreme court.

So, the answer is (in McCain's phrase that hurts deeply) elections have consequences. I think Kerry would have had a very tough time, but since the election he has worked incredibly hard with few people cheering him on, consistently doing the right thing. There are many things such as being the CIC, issuing EPA rulings, the gag rule on overseas aid can all be done by Presidential order.
