Listen to the opposition to the invasion from people like Buchanan and Bow-tie boy Carlson. This faction...better known as the "East Coast establishment" has been having it out with the "Texas cowboys" for a while.

Remember, it was the elder Bush who claimed that outting a CIA agent was the most despicable type of treason. He's been awfully quiet about the Plame outting...and has even dismissed the probe on a Larry King show as being "minor". Think he's gonna turn on his kid now and back an old advisor? I don't think so.

Again, Scowcroft has voiced several criticisms of the Iraq invasion and how this regime all but ruined all the fine statescraft he and several others had woven in the area in the early 90's. It'd mean something if there were members of Poppy's inner circle in this regime...if anything, there's resentment.
