26. Actually, Ben, you have EXACTLY the right idea.
The right spent most of the early seventies doing just this: investing in media outlets and local campaigns to get their guys on school boards, city councils, etc, which led to bigger local elections, which led to state elections, ehcih led to national elections..... They couldn't have done it if it weren't for guys like Scaife and Coors who were willing to pony up cash.

There is no equivalent of this effort on the left. People seem to think that just because we're on the right side of the facts and the right side of ethics that we'll eventually come out on top. NO. It doesn't work that way anymore.

All of these supposed "rich liberals" in Hollywood need to start shutting the fuck up about their opinions and start ponying up the dough for the foundations and think tanks that need to be created to make those opinions count..
