12. Reminds me of something that happened in downtown Portland
a few years ago.

I was waiting for a bus near a bank that had an outdoor ATM late one evening, when I heard one of the many homeless who live downtown call out, "Sir! You forgot your Visa card!"

He chased after a yuppie-looking man who had just gotten some money.

"Sir! Your Visa card!"

The yuppie man just reached his hand out, barely turning his head, and took the card without a word.

The phrase "yuppie scum" came to mind. After all, if it was indeed a real Visa card, not a cash-only card, the homeless man could have kept it and bought out half a store before the yuppie even missed it.

I was so upset with the ungrateful yuppie wretch that I dug around in my purse and found a five dollar bill. I gave it to the homeless man and told him to buy himself a nice breakfast the next morning. (At that time, it would have been enough.)
