14. not much he can do
to stop an act of nature...
(I won't be surprised if Falwell or Robertson blames the storm on the 'wicked ways' of the Big Easy - wait for it, it's coming)

However - "moving forward" - instead of cutting budgets for the New Orleans district of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers there should be more effort put into keeping cities and citizens safe

we can be sure of one thing that he will be doing -- taking a helicopter ride over the area, and probably a photo-op with a few people - heck, he may even had out a bottle of water or two...

meanwhile - this storm is going to choke the rest of us too -- you think gas prices are high now - just wait for damage assessment of the oil rigs and refineries. And then there's the National weather service prediction about a long cold winter - yeah it's going to be very cold when people can't afford to heat their homes.

bush*'s solution is to drill in ANWAR - won't help much for this winter - but he's "resolute" in a "noble cause" and determined to "stay the course" --- whatever that is...

reminds me of a road trip as a kid -- we were "off course" - my mom says "I think we're lost, we should ask for directions."

My dad replies - "We're not lost, I just don't know where we are...."
