It's simple - for them to even feasibly be empathetic to Cindy and her cause means to question George W. Bush and his war.
The whole premise behind the 'George Bush persona' that the neo-conservatives so heartily embrace is that Bush is suppose to be this good christian who would rule this country based on 'good Christian principles'. In a nutshell - he wasn't Clinton, who to the right is a sinner, a liar and an adulterer.
For the freeper mind to be able to support Cindy and her cause would mean they would have to recognize that Bush could actually lie. And to admit that Bush could lie means that Bush basically is cut from the same cloth that Bill Clinton was. THis would go against EVERYTHING they have programmed their brains to believe about both Bush and Clinton.
This concept allows neo-conservatives to gleefully run over crosses that represent those who have died in Iraq. It allows them to stand opposite of Camp Casey and shout at a Gold STar Mom (one who has lost a child in the War in Iraq) stuff like "We don't care". This allows them to pay $3/galleon for their SUV that gets 10 miles to gallon and still feel patriotic because "God Bless our Troop" magnets are on their bumper and Lee Greenwood CD is in their CD player.
It's a pathetic, shallow world where they isolate one mantra that they repeat over and over enough times that even when the truth dispelling that mantra smacks them right in the face they still won't accept the real truth.
Squealer has taught the sheep the proper chant and since the sheep never were able to learn anything else they keep repeating that same chant over and over again:
Bush Administration Good Anyone who questions Bush is Bad Must attack anyone who questions Bush
