He may be able to get enough people to nod "yes" on the "good job/bad job" question, but he has nowhere near the adulation that a Reagan had.

He's an embarrassment and many are feeling the twinge. He's condescending, pompous and he's constantly threatening people. That doesn't sit well for long.

If he's no longer the "no-nonsense President"...well...that makes him the "nonsense President". Back off our real enemies and invade someone who has no interest in us. Create many enemies in the process. Suck the revenue for the government dry so it can be given to those who don't need it. Cram god down the throats of indigent alcoholics. Ignore tracking weapons, but gush money at pornography, prostitution and paraphernalia.

Once the tables start to turn it could get ugly but-quick.

What can they do? If the Iraqis have their little Tet Offensive that they've rumbled about on the 17th (this Thursday) will the right claim that it's the treasonous liberals who brought it on with their lack of solidarity? Of course. There's gonna be a whole lotta spinning going on.
