They could say or do whatever they wanted - whatever they believed. Perhaps they would say, "Be patient, we are winning the war in Iraq. And when we do, democracy will spread all over the Middle East. Perhaps thousands more of your sons and daughters will die in this war but this is an honorable cause. People deserve to live in freedom. Yes, the oil supplies need to be stabilized. People need to trust us. Would we lie?"

And every person in the country would stand up and say, "Yes, Mr. President, we trust you. We trust your judgement. If you believe it, then we believe it. Why would we not trust your judgement? When were you wrong? We believe the deaths of our sons and daughters is worth the Middle East living in democracy. We need the oil supplies for our SUVs which we enjoy driving. O Great Leader, whatever you say or do is OK with us..."

Just imagine how great our nation would be.....
