14. Yup - their is a big myth out there that US policy never hurt anyone.
For sure communism was bad. But so was US interference in democracies that try to emerge and just happen to be to the left. If the lefties get into power and cannot make life better - they will get voted out in a few years. The important thing is that the democracies emerge. Neocons are the biggest flip-floppers the world has ever seen. The neocons & the Israelis must shudder when they think of that Iranian Prime Minister they replaced with the Shaw in the 1950s. Now there was a chance.

But they still only want the type of economy that favors American corporations..not any democracy or economy will do. And in that - by using scare tactics on people like the venezuelans..they still destabilize them. Communism is dead. Not that that was a good excuse for what happened in many destabilizations. But they can no longer hide their hypocrisy. What is Chavez going to do? Call bin Laden?

I hate to see how they paint the protesters at the G8 as anarchists. Why the G8 protesters in Alberta & Halifax were for releasing debt of African nations (the poorest ones). So how could they be anarchists if a few years later Bush "comes up with the idea"?

All so much smoke and mirrors.
