that no republican will EVER vote to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.. They spent 35 years UNDOING it.. Its demise is what has allowed them to control the message.
People have been listening and watching one-sided commentary for a whole generation, and then some..so anything different will be shocking to them, so I do not anticipate any sea-changees.
Another wrinkle to the mess is that corporate media is so pervasive, and it costs SO much to get a toehold in the market.
When the take-over started, way back when, there were still hundreds of independent(family owned) newspapers and magazines...and there was no satellite tv, and barely any cable.
