this in Tulsa, where being 'born again' was part of being So Baptist ( and 2/3s to 3/4s of people in OK then were So Baptist)

according to pentecostal/charismatic history, Oral Roberts started the modern charismatic renewal in 1949 when he started his tent ministry in Tulsa.......I was a So Baptist kid then, and no one I knew ever talked about this

many So Baptists even today think speaking in tongues is heresy

there's a lot of theological/doctrinal disagreement between So Baptists and Pentecostals and Mormons and Roman Catholics......but they've ignored these to unite as a RW/republican action group
