50. Hang on, that's completely unfair
Generally, when the mother dies in this situation she takes the fetus with her--you wind up with a dead mother AND a dead fetus.

Basically, we're going up against God here with the mother's life. If you perform the procedure, the mother lives, but you've thwarting the Will of God and all of you are going to Hell. If you don't, God's Will has been honored, but you've got a grieving family.

Ann doesn't realize it, but Dilation and Extraction and other late-term procedures are really covered in the Declaration of Independence: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

It's all about life, people. The life of the mother. You don't get one of these done because...oh shoot, I remember what I forgot, I forgot to get that abortion in the first trimester and I'm eight months pregnant now so I'll just pop on down to Dr. Tiller and get it done tomorrow.
