Reply #28: Freudian analysis of history is rather dated

The concept of a static human nature is anti-scientific, and anti-reality. If one thing is clear it is that "human nature" like ALL things is dynamic and constantly changing and EVOLVING. Even in our world today we can see differences in social values from place to place depending on their histories and social being.

In fact science has shown a fair amount of basis for rapid evolution in the human mind based upon changing conditions. The brain is an extremely adaptive organ, as are human beings in general.

Nature vs. Nurture debate is long and ongoing, but there is no basis for concluding that human beings are hardwired to oppress eachother.
