i know what having your son at DU was like - christ, but he was a special person! intelligent, articulate, informed, perceptive, funny, well versed in so many areas of culture, passionate, compassionate, thoughtful, honest, reasonable, creative, smart, witty, clever, engaging, enlightening, reliable... the list goes on. and on.

your son was a very special person. very special. a role model. i wish there were an abundance of people like your son. but he was unique, and very few people in the world are able to touch and teach so many.

i can't imagine the loss you must feel, my heart breaks for you. if, as you greive, you can remember how much your son meant to all of us, perhaps you can find a smile of pride that your son touched thousands of lives - in his life and in his death. all of us, lefties and liberals and progrssives and democrats that we are, should strive to be more like your son. he was the best.
