6. Symbolically
he represents the most recent period of peace (aside from Kosovo & Bosnia) and prosperity. He is a curious, intellectual man who can explain dauntingly complex situations with great clarity.

He also represents a time when the country's most serious preoccupation was a consensual sexual dalliance. We are nostalgic for our concerns being that trivial and inconsequential.

What has happenned to Democrats since Clinton is hardly the result of his actions. It was a gradual takeover of the three branches of government, the media, and the voting procedures that had been implemented incrementally over time ever since Nixon resigned.

He has the allure of a tragic hero, who gained the highest office in the land and was largely stymied by gridlock in Congress and spurious accusations.

I didn't even vote for him. Don't flame me, I'm in a staunchly Democratic state and voted third party.

I definately see why people love him. Especially compared to *.
