15. I can beat that.

I got banned from a guitar forum for a post nobody but one of the moderators saw (the thread was deleted right after I clicked "Post"). The forum has a "no politics" rule, but it's pretty loosely applied: at any mention of "cigar," or "dress," or "Clinton," out come the Clinton jokes but you can't say so much as, "What was up with that weird tie Bush wore at his press conference? Talk about ugly!" without some of the 'winger posters starting in with, "Why do you hate America?" It was also common practice to lock threads critical of liberals (and thus they were still available for everyone to read) while threads critical of Republicans were summarily deleted. (FTR, the founder of the site is a right-winger.)

The post that got my posting privileges suspended was related to "Fahrenheit 9/11." One of the other members had just seen it and said he thought that Bush was a horrible president and that the movie really highlighted all the ways we'd gone wrong in dealing with Iraq and the "war on terror." Another poster said, "No politics" and posted a link to Hitchens' review of F9/11. (Yeah, like that wasn't political. :eyes:) I posted and said I agreed with the first poster's assessment of the movie and that was it. I'm glad I got booted, btw, since I'd started getting fed up with all the "rah-rah, go America" bullshit that was going on, anyway.

I showed them, though. I never gave them any money, but when I got booted from there I came here and made a donation. Ha! That'll teach 'em! FTR, I like it here much better. :7
