Solitary confinement, unlike many of the old movies out, does not mean absolutely no contact with anyone. Even with a solid steel door, there is a window/type vent. Blood, urine, feces, homeade weapons, anything and everything a prisoner can use will be utilized if he feels like it. These persons have 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, to sit there and think of ways to mess up anyone that gets too close to them, or their port hole. They are surrounded by steel and concrete, which by the way, you can make and sharpen some pretty lethal weapons from. (Worked in a maximum security prison for over 3 yrs, prison included a death row.)
