13. I read an interview with Jindal in which he talked about how
when he was in college, a fresman's parent, and Indian man, walked up to Jindal asking for directions and help. Jindal said he was insulted that this guy presumed that because Jindal was Indian-America that he would provide any better information or assistance than anyone else.

Lighten up.

I remember reading some black America liberal intellectual (famous, but his name escapes me now) talking about living in England. His first day in England he was late for his job. He needed directions so he walked up to the nearest black man. The guy was a West Indian with such a thick London/West Indian accent, the American had no idea what he said.

He said that he learned an important lesson about race in that moment.

Nonetheless, who could criticize the impulse to look around and try to find the person you think will be most sympathetic to your plight? Well, I guess Jindal could.
