I am uncertain that this is true. I'm pretty sure I noticed in an article (WaPo, NYT?) that although she worked WMD prolif at CIA, and CIA folks met with the VP pressure brigade often, the article stated that she personally had not been in those meetings.

So Cheney et al. would have maybe picked up her name/ID from documents, routing slips, loose lips, etc.

Otherwise I completely agree with your theory as best fitting what we think we know.

Especially salient is the point that the intention was to discredit Wilson (less than, say, revenge or intimidation). The importance is in revealing how viciously Cheney is sticking to his story on the nuke lies. Even today, this minute. Guess David Kay is the next in line to be discredited. :)
