Imagine a Democratic president with the full powers of the Patriot Act

Imaging the AEI and the Heritage Foundation being shut down as terrorist organizations. Imagine bugging devices being put on the walls at Fox News, or sneak and peek search warrants of Rush Limbaugh's EIB studios, and secret interceptions of mail sent by the Christian Coalition.

A Democratic Administration could have a lot of fun with the Patriot Act. We can have all of the anti-abortion groups declared as terrorist organizations, shut down conservative talk shows and jail Ann Coulter as an enemy combatant (and rendition her off to some secret Polish CIA prison).

You get a Democrat in there and these people can be silenced with the Patriot Act.

The conservatives had better be careful what they wish for. Their people won't be in power forever and ever. That's just not how American politics works.

The next time you get into a scape with a conservative over the Patriot Act, ask him or her if they would trust these powers in the hands of a Democratic president (maybe throw out Hillary Clinton as a real boogy man).
