Now, here's an experienced inside-the-beltway reporter who I can respect. Transcription by VolcanoJen...

WOLF: What do you make of this latest... I described it earlier almost as a "Perfect Storm" of politics here in Washington. Is this a scandal in the making?

SCHIEFFER: This is very serious matter. There are leaks, and then there are leaks. You have to be very, very careful about this kind of a leak, where obviously, some lives could be put in danger. I think that the president, from a political standpoint, needs to call his staff in and tell them 'who did this and why they did this,' by the close of business today. And the president can do that. Those people need to be seperated from the government. This is the kind of thing that can get totally out of hand, from a political standpoint, and unravel a presidency.

WOLF: Unravel the presidency? You're talking Watergate!

SCHIEFFER: When these people pulled the stupid stunt of breaking into the Democratic Headquarters, if Nixon would have immediately seperated himself from that, instead of going through these ridiculous cover stories, may have saved his presidency.
