16. Here, the info (scant as it is) is included in the Student Code of Conduct
booklet. It's a blip in the midst of 30 or 40 some pages outlining behavior, dress codes, rights, etc.

snip> "Military recruiters and institutions of higher education are entitled under federal law to a list of names, addresses, and telephone numbers of high school students unless you object to such release. If you notify your principal in writing at any time that you do not wish your child's name, address, and telephone number released without your written consent, we will honor that request." < end snip

A simple paragraph like the above might make it clearer than what's being distributed by your school. Not perfect by any means and it says 'any time'. You mentioned August 24th. Are there specific end dates? or does that vary, too? Also wish they included an actual form so it would draw more attention and more parents would take a look at it. That's probably asking too much.

and there's the ASVAB(?) question. My son opted out of taking it. Think I read somewhere that some schools are listing it as mandatory - but don't quote me.

Good luck with your meeting. Let us know how it goes.
