The truth is that he hadn't written anything good in years and years. The guy had talent, but lost it about thirty years ago. I mean, his only gig at his death was writing a sports column for ESPN2.com - what is THAT?

I saw an article that said HST had told people he was working on a story about how the planes didn't bring down the WTC, that it was done by explosives in the basement, and that he was gonna expose the whole plot.

My guess is that he spread that story to leave behind a brouhaha and confusion after his suicide. That would be a worthy HST caper, don't you think?
