8. I was wondering during mass this morning
just how these fundies can take the peaceful and loving message of Christ and believe the things about the world they believe. Then it became apparent to me that these fundies really rarely speak of Christ. They speak of God to the point that Christ is an afterthought. They speak of "God" as though Jesus is secondary and an entity that must be tolerated and put up with because what Christ preached is so contrary to their "God". I then wondered if it may in fact be true that they are worshipping some other "god" that is vengeful and hateful. God of the Old Testament fits their notion of God much better than Christ's new way . Fundies explain this away with the simpletonistic "Well, the Old Testament is part of the Bible too." Its almost like they're telling Christ, "Yeah, that's all well and good so thank you very much and now sit down and shut up."
