Perhaps she wants to be seen as a grunge slacker type. (I mean "type" in a sub-culture sense and not the personality sense). We all use our appearance to manage impressions- some use it more than others. Would you go to your mother's funeral wearing shorts and flip-flops? I would guess not.

Dress shouldn't have anything to do with being liberal or conservative. You assume that people who dress more conservatively must be uptight conservatives. Some people have to dress a certain way to keep their jobs. Hollywood people don't have to do it. The rest of us do.

I didn't equate her behavior with us losing the election. You shouldn't put words into my mouth.
