...You want to lump me in with some cat from Minnesota or Idaho who's never tasted fresh Gulf shrimp and grits or seafood gumbo or collards and cornbread; who's never known a Christmas Day with the air conditioner running full blast; who's never heard the words "cattywhompus" or "fixin' to" used in conversation; someone who's never known what it's like to live in the oppressive atmosphere that gave birth to the blues; someone who's never had to come to terms with Mardi Gras; someone who's never seen a barn with "See Rock City" gleaming from it's roof; someone who's never cautiously monitored the Gulf during "hurricane season;" or been immersed in the combined sociology, theology, political science and pure feudalism of the Southern collegiate football cults?

And just because we share a lack of melanin?
