Response from Kerasotes regarding screening in Northwest Indiana

Here is the response I received to my request for a screening in Schererville.

Theater: ShowPlace 16 (8871)

Original Comment:

I would like to congratulate you on showing "Fahrenheit 9/11" in so many cities. But I am dissapointed that it will NOT be showing in Shererville.

This is the premiere theatre in Northwest Indiana. But for some reason it is not listed as showing Fahrenheit 9/11 the film that won the most prestigious award and the most prestigious film festival in the world.

This is an important work, and Kerasotes decision to NOT show the film in Northwest Indiana is VERY dissapointing. I can guarantee you that MANY, MANY Democrats have been eagerly anticipating the release of this film. Many will now be forced to drive to Chicago in order to see it.

Please show Fahrenheit 9/11 in Shererville. I can guarantee a large enough audience to justify it's showing!!!!

Regarding: Film Selection
Thanks for visiting our web site. We're pleased that you took the time to inquire about "Fahrenheit 9/11" in Schererville.

Contrary to popular belief it is often the film's distributor who determines the availability of films, not the theatre. Some films will open in over 3000 theatres -- other films open exclusively in New York and Los Angeles and gradually expand from there. The majority of films have release patterns somewhere between these two extremes. The theatres potential for attendance is always a factor when determining availability.

The distributor decided to open this film in only 1000 theatres.

We are in contact with the distributor of this film and hope to obtain a print on June 25 or as soon after as possible. We appreciate your interest and hope you understand the process we must go through.

Kindest regards,

Scott Cottingham

So the deal is that Lion's Gate is only making 1000 copies available. So we need to turn up the pressure and request more viewings so Lion's Gate makes more copies!!!!!!

But Kudos to Kerasotes for screening Fahrenheit 9/11 at so many locations!!!!
