My thoughts on the religious/secular divide
Advertisements [?]
Are other posters correct when they talk about the passion on both sides of religious folk versus secularists? Yes.

Are they correct when they say both are equally out of line? No. Secularists want to ensure that no one religion (or any religion) dominates the public discourse. Many religious people are, on the other hand, moving to ensure that only their religion is accepted in society AND are actively moving to deny me MY rights and the practise of MY religious beliefs.

As a religious person myself, I am more on the side of the secularists because they pose no threat to my civil liberties (including the right to practise my religion free from discrimination). I cannot say the same about MOST religiously-motivated political activists.
