20. SSI is for people who dont have a work record long enough
to draw SS. You have to had worked so many quarters to qualify for SS and if you dont meet that requirement you can get SSI if you can show youre disabled .

IMO SSI is a better deal in Ohio. They get the monthy check (which is really sorry imo) and Medicaid which pays prescription costs. SS has the Medicare program which doesnt so you have to buy your prescriptions. Not good when you get maybe 500 a month.
