8. If you mean an old fashioned revolution I do not think it will happen
that way. Yes, it is happening that way in many countries across the globe right now but the real change will have to come from personal lifestyle changes. Bottom up. Bernie, gave a good speech on what it is we want as progressives and that is a start. Congress letting President Obama and the repugs know that we are not just going to follow along behind is another good step. Many of us are so broke that we are not going to be able to buy the usual Christmas presents. That is not bad. Christmas has been turned into nothing more than a buying frenzy for years now anyhow. This Christmas can be used to reset our purchasing habits. Live simple is as good a model for personal revolution as we can get. New Years is a good time to start making plans to become more self-sufficient, to support local community businesses, to encourage local government to work toward energy efficiency and to make plans for harder times without hurting the poorest in the community.

All of this can be done on a local personal basis and is a revolution in the sense of the changes that took place during the industrial revolution years ago. The students in England are trying to restore the status quo and it is not going to work. As Dylan put it years ago "the times they are a changing" and anything we do must take this reality (oil depletion, climate change and overstretch)into account. If it does not it will not work. I only wish I were able to do more to help make these local changes. But as my 11 year old great-grandson said, "Grandma, no one listens to old people anymore."
